As many of you know, Gmail is Google’s free webmail service that provides GBs of free storage for email and attachments. Now there’s a lot of storage, storage in reality most people really need. So what can we do with all that extra storage space you may wonder? What if I told you we could use this extra storage to act as a hard disk to store files online?
For this you need to download a software called Gmail Drive:-GMail Drive is a Shell Namespace Extension that creates a virtual
filesystem around your Google GMail account, allowing you to use GMail as a storage medium. GMail Drive creates a virtual filesystem on top of your Google GMail account and enables you to save and retrieve files stored on your GMail account directly from inside Windows Explorer.
After installing a new drive called GMail Drive will be added to my computer.
When giving double click on this drive a window will appear where the username and password of Gmail has to be entered and click in “OK” .
Using the Gmail Drive to store files
Now that the software is installed, simply start copying files into the Gmail Drive. You can also right-click on files and select Send To -> Gmail Drive.
